I was thinking of buying a 20" LCD, but am undecided which one to buy. Can you suggest a great 20" monitor with high contrast?
» electro answered... There's a pretty wide gamut of prices in that size, I am assuming you are talking about for watching HDTV.
For high-contrast, and high-quality at the upper end, there is the Sharp Aquos LC-20D42U at PC Connection. The downside is that it is $600. You can get a lot more size for that price, but the contrast ratio is 1200:1.

At the lower-end, for only $240 at uBid, is the Vizio VX20L. It only has a 700:1 contrast ratio, but it's 40% of the cost of the Aquos.

The downside to both, and most LCDs in my opinion, is the unfortunate 1366x768 native resolution, which doesn't really exactly match any source material.
As a side note, if you are looking for a computer monitor and not a TV, there are loads available in the $225 area.
