I personally think there is no question on this-- plasma destroys LCD in terms of color and contrast. However, the old idea of burn-in seems to have had a real effect on the technology even though it is all but gone.

If I were buying now, I would buy a plasma, from someone like Panasonic that is still somewhat invested in the technology. They are, if anything, cheaper than the same LCD size, and the color and contrast are miles apart.

Check somewhere like bensbargains.net, there are often links to good deals on plasma sets.
